1) Posters are being sent home as part of our Poster Festival. Over the weekend decorate them according to one (or more) of the following themes:
- It is fun to give: Decorate your poster in a way that expresses the joy felt when giving a gift to someone you care about
- Lord, What do you want to do through me?: Decorate your poster in a way that expresses how you are carrying out His will.
- I love my parish: Decorate your poster in a way that shows what you like about your parish.
- Sacrifice: Decorate your poster in a way that shows how you can give up something in order to accomplish something more important.
2) Read pages 180 - 217 in Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever and do two of the following on a loose leaf piece of paper: Make sure you're ready for tomorrow's quiz on this section of reading.
- Make a connection: Quote a passage, with page number, that reminds you of something that has happened to you. Write at least two sentences briefly describing the connection you made.
- Expand your vocabulary: Write down at least two words you did not know, their page number, and the sentence they were used in. Write one sentence describing what you think the words means.
- Make a prediction: Quote a passage, with page number, that makes you think something is going to happen. Briefly describe what your prediction is.
- Ask a question: Find a passage that you have a question about, quote the passage, with the page number, and write your question. This might be something that is unclear or makes you wonder about something

The poem for next week's performances is:
I think I'll Call it Morning
By Gil Scott-Heron
I’m gonna take myself a piece of sunshine
and paint it all over my sky.
Be no
rain. Be no rain.
I’m gonna take the song from every bird
and make them sing it just for me.
Be no
rain.
And I think I’ll call it morning from now on.
Why
should I survive on sadness
convince
myself I’ve got to be alone?
Why
should I subscribe to this world’s
madness
knowing that I’ve got to live on?
I think I’ll call it morning from now on.
I’m gonna take myself a piece of sunshine
And
paint it all over my sky.
Be no rain. Be no rain.
I’m gonna take the song from every bird
And make them sing it just for me.
Why
should I hang my head?
Why
should I let tears fall from my eyes
when
I’ve seen everything that there is to see
and I
know that there ain’t no sense in crying!
I know
that there ain’t no sense in crying!
I think I’ll call it morning from now on.
