Note 1: I've added links to the videos of Op Art we've been doing in class. This could be fun to see how different family members do with these projects.
Note 2: We're going to have a test on The Watsons Go to Birmingham--1963 tomorrow afternoon.
Your homework for tonight is:
1) Choose two characters from The Watsons Go to Birmingham--1963. Write one paragraph about each character that talks about their role in the story, and includes at least one quote from the book. There is an example below.
2) Come up with five different questions you would like to ask during your interview. Think about Watsons, the video, and discussion from class. Be ready to share them with the class tomorrow.
3) Use this time to practice for our first map quiz next Wednesday. The link to the map quiz site is under resources and is probably the best way to study!
Kenny Watson: Ten-year-old Kenny is the narrator of The Watsons Go to Birmingham—1963. This means that everything we read is described from Kenny’s point of view. The middle child of the Watson family, Kenny is an excellent student and is trusted by his parents. He craves their approval and is thankful when his parents pay particular attention to him. “I loved when Dad talked to me like I was grown-up. I didn’t really understand half the junk he was saying, but it sure did feel good to be talked
to like that!” (p. 124)
