Reminder: Next Monday (October 7th) is Picture Day.

Your homework for tonight is:

2) Vocabulary: In your word study notebook, write the definitions of our vocabulary words: decorative, divert, shriek, scatter

Thursday we will have a test on our decimal concepts unit.    I'll be available after school on Wednesday from 3:15 -4:00 if anyone has any questions they want clarified before the test on Thursday.

There are 23 total questions (some questions have multiple steps/pieces).  The following is a list of the concepts that will be included and an example problem for each.  This is not an exhaustive list, but should give you a fair understanding of what the problems will look like.

Example Problem: Which number represents fifty four thousandths?
a) 0.54    b) 0.054     c) 0.00054    d) 54,000

Place Value:
Example Problem: Which digit is in the tenths place in the number 584.932?
a) 4    b) 2    c) 9    d) 3

Example Problem: A hot dog is $1.75, a juice is $2.20 and an apple is $0.99.  If you round the cost of each to the nearest dollar and want two hot dogs, one juice and one apple, what would your estimated total cost be?
